46 will be better than 45
The Year Ahead
I’m writing this, not to solicit more birthday greetings. I’ve received many today and am more than grateful that so many people out there are thinking of me today. I’m writing this in part because I want to (and have to) make year 46 better than 45.
The past year hasn’t been bad by any means. But in terms of my overall health, I let some things slide. I always vow at the start of a new year to eat better, exercise more and get into better shape. During my 45th year, I wrapped up my running streak. I ran 1,004 days straight, starting on May 1, 2016. That last year I ended up gaining 10 pounds.
I know why. In my head, I justified my craft beer drinking and sweet treat eating because I was running each day. However, most of those runs were just a mile, hardly enough to burn the calories I was taking in on my gluttonous days. So I view March 17, 2019, as my New Year’s Day and a chance to hit the reset button. I just weighed myself and I’m 211.8 pounds, the heaviest I’ve ever been.
Another area of health I’ve neglected is getting enough sleep. Most nights I’m lucky to get a solid four hours. There are a number of factors contributing to this and my bad eating/not exercising enough. But the bottom line and person most responsible for this is ME. Today that all changes.
I want to also take my pro wrestling career to a new level. I want to appear as a ring announcer, backstage interviewer or commentator on TV sometime in the next year. So if you happen to be involved in the world of pro wrestling, please share this with someone who can help me reach this goal.
When I review this year on Earth in 365 days major changes will have occurred. I only hope it’s for the better.
