Snap into a branding opportunity

Snap to it

I’ve made no secret about the fact that I am a working on growing a couple of different brands. Kevin Hunsblogger is my freelance blogging/content creation brand. Admittedly, I don’t give it as much love as my pro wrestling brand,
My 1-2-3 Cents. However, I’m working hard on both (and a couple other projects).

My first filter

I was originally going to post this under the My 1-2-3 Cents site, but I thought it would be a good fit here from a branding point of view. I’m getting my feet wet with creating Snapchat filters. I made my first one in May for a big event with Stride Pro Wrestling. I was pleasantly surprised that I figured out how to make the filter, that it got approved and that people other than me and Tom Harness used it.

The point of the filter is to get your brand out there. The hope is that people use it, save it and then repost the picture on social media. While I didn’t really see much of that from my first filter, I believe my second filter may accomplish that. (Fingers crossed.)

The filter for Monday

I received approval from Snapchat over my filter for the WWE Summerslam Heatwave Tour that’s coming to Carbondale, Illinois on July 23. From 7 until 11 that night, pro wrestling fans can take pictures of their favorite WWE Superstars and include the My 1-2-3 Cents monkey (who still needs a name). Will anyone actually do it? I don’t know. But one thing I do know is my brand wouldn’t get out there at all if I didn’t at least try something.

The process is super easy too. Follow these steps. The cost is worth it as well. This filter and the previous one only cost $5 each. I know the size of the area and the length of time also play factors in the cost. I want to plant the seed for fans there on Monday night to scroll through and look for the filter. Even if it’s not used and shared amongst other fans, at least these Snappers will see the logo while scrolling along.

I’m far from an expert on this matter. But I feel like just taking a look at Snapchat’s website and some simple photo editing has helped boost my confidence and hopefully my brand as well. If you’re at the SIU Arena Monday night please give the filter a try and add me on Snap while you’re at it. Thanks! Trust me you can do this for your brand and an event that fits with it.
